Rant: Titan quests
So yeh. It is bad enough elementalists aren't loved (especially earth and water, which are the elements I use).
Typical chat:
===========================
In Frontier Gate:
Random lvl5: What's Last Day Dawns?
Random lvl 10: What's LDD?
Random lvl 20: start from yak's
In Yak's:
Me: (Looking for ____(insert prof.)_____) for LDD
Random lvl 7: Let me join, I want to do it! I'm a ____ (insert profession)______
Random lvl 20: start from frontier gate with 4
So I waited THREE whole hours to get a group for Last Day Dawns, considering my un<3ed ele needs the quest since my necro and warrior are <3ed and were easier to get a group.
Then you fail and try again. Another TWO Hours pass. Fail again. It's not the quest, its the ele, right?
Basically I spent 5 hours out of a 24 hour day for ONE quest...and didnt even get to finish it
The mobs (titans and charr lvl 24) have so much darn armor against elements, you literally cannot do anything except crystal wave and obsidian flame them.
-.-

Henchies are no good against the Level 24's in the Titan Quests. One hit, *splat*...

Yes but he is using an Ele. You might want to try Fire or even Water. See if that helps since it will be cold damage.

True, but the wait times seemed really long. After 10 or 15 minutes I'd just grab henchmen and go in cuz I'd get bored of waiting.

Yeah, I can attest to the same thing. Took me a day to do the quest with my ele. I eventually gave up trying for a group of 6 at Yak's, because during both of the runs, two people dropped, so we ended up with 4 at Frontier Gate anyway. Talk about a waste of time...
Oh, and it was looking for a group during this quest that made me decide to start a PvE monk. Damn monks are never available when you need them...
Ended up getting lucky, finding a monk, then repeating the mission about 10 times before getting it done. I think I ended up going air with blinding flash and a good chunk of mesmer skills.

Conclusion: Ele's suck, except as flashbots.
Remind me again why anyone would want to complete these quests.

I think George Leigh Mallory said it best when asked why he wanted to climb Mount Everest: 'Because it's there.'

These quests are not really needed they just continue the story line a little longer. They are tough because you have to keep the f'in NPC alive while they run in and aggro everything.

Theres a trick, something about killing all titans and letting the king die. Than rezone and just talk to the king? Some thread floating around about it.

Well, if you kill all the titans, you've probably finished the mission anyway?
As for whether these quests are worth it... well, if you don't mind trying to find a group, it is nice to see a change in scenery. (Well, same scenery, different things in that scenery. =D) And it does give you enough EXP for a level, kind of...

Yeah, you can just kill all the titans and finish the quest even though the King dies. After that you can just rezone and talk to the King when he spawns again.

NO, once the king dies then everyone in your team dies.

Anyway I was able to do it with 2 rangers with winter and a monk. Air spiking seems to work well when it is* cold damage. I had tried water magic prior to this, but the recharges were too long to kill anything and the fact that stalker lords had high elemental armor just meant armor penetration was more or less mandatory.
Still took like 3 hours to get a group though.
The monk laughed at the easiness of it, because I had warned him it was about my 20th or 30th try. XD
sadly, my necro only took 2 tries.
